Can't say I care for the new logo. And the flamboyant, ultra-hipster, pseudo-aesthete explanation of why a change was necessary was a complete slog to wade through. It was like a horribly bad tour that wouldn't end.

In the early days of DA, when you arrived at the site a constantly updated total of submitted 'art' was prominently displayed. When I discovered DA the number was around 100,000.  The last time I remember seeing the number it was ~6 million. I joined much later after that. It wouldn't surprise me if the current number of submissions was 60 million+.

My point for running down memory lane is this:

Their painful explanation implies DA was just going to disappear from the internets unless the site bled art or something like that. So.. over the last decade of thousands and thousands of unsolicited member submitted logos to chose from, this is the best you could do?  You want your brand to be 'Z-is-banned' ?  um.. ok.

DA needs to add a 'like' button.  I see far too many submissions in a day that I genuinely like, but not enough to favorite... which leaves me feeling guilty because I know some people feel discouraged when they put so much effort into something that in the end receives very little recognition, or so they think.

Just knowing that two or three people 'like' what you've done is enough to brighten anyone's day.
